Our Services and Detailed Information
Please take your time: choose the age appropriate program for your child, and read through the details. Our programs are highly successful, and a big part of that is that you, as a parent, know exactly what you are signing your child up for and are involved in the process of your little one learning potentially life-saving skills. You will be able to sign up on the very bottom of this page, AFTER educating yourself about the invaluable service we provide.

Infant Survival (6 to 12 mos)
If your baby is between 6 and 12 months the "Infant Survival" is the appropriate program. The minimum age is 6 GESTATIONAL months, and the baby must be able to roll over from tummy to back and vice versa. This would be the right program for your baby.
This 4-week program (16 lessons) teaches infants (6 to 12 months) to roll over from a face down or submerged position onto their backs to relax and breathe, while fully clothed.
Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days a week, 10 minutes long for 4 consecutive weeks.
Lessons in Atascadero are on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, scheduled in 10-minute increments roughly between 9 am and 12 pm.

Why are lessons so short?
These are one-on-one lessons. Due to the nature of the activity your child will be exhausted by the end of a lesson. We are not going to have you pay us to blow bubbles with your child; we are teaching life-saving skills.

For the first few lessons parents are usually not required in the water. However, sometimes having a caretaker in the water can be soothing to very young children.
We always like to teach the parents of our students how to swim with their littles so they can practice in any other pool, and enjoy water activities together. Sometimes it is grandparents or nannies that swim with the little ones, if mom/dad are not available. We can make it all work.
Why is a pool visit recommended?
This program is unlike other learn-to-swim programs. Which is why I encourage parents to come and observe lessons before they sign up. This gives you an opportunity to see students, close in age to your child, that have completed the program to see what the results look like, and also to see some lessons in progress, to get a picture of how lessons are conducted. It also enables you to talk to other parents about their experiences to make an educated decision whether this program is the perfect fit for your family.
We have an open-door policy; however, due to the pool availability and to assure that you can see a student that is close in age to your child, I usually invite potential clients to come on certain days and time frames. Feel free to stay for as long as you want, and talk to caregivers that have their kids in the water.
Please email or text me for days and time recommendations.
I do recommend this; however, I have many parents that have heard about the program, and watched videos of friends and family, and will sign up regardless of having been out to observe or now.

Time commitment?

The program requires commitment to 4 lessons per week for 4 weeks.
The unique setting almost guarantees that your child will learn their survival skills within 4 weeks.
If your baby needs fewer lessons than required there is an option to roll over any unused lessons into once a week maintenance classes.

Kinder Swim (1-7 years)
Once your child can walk, the "Kinder Swim" (12 months to 8 years) is the appropriate program.
Kinder Swim (KS):
This 6-week program (24 lessons) teaches toddlers and young children the swim-float-swim sequence. Children will learn to swim a short distance (to their abilities) with their face fully submerged, to roll onto their back to float and rest whenever they need to breathe, and flip back onto their tummy to continue to swim to safety, while fully clothed.
The swim-float-swim sequence serves as a foundation for future stroke development.

If a child is older than 4 years, and is not apprehensive or even fearful of water we will consider doing four 20-minute lessons per week for 3 weeks, instead of four 10-minute lessons per week for 6 weeks.
A preferred alternative would be four 15-minute lessons for 4 weeks. Experience has shown that 20 minutes can be quite exhausting.
